"A Tale of Two Armies"
Game Report
by Jackie Pettipas
The day was hot as both groups set out to search for the "Horn of Valdare". The Vagrians had a difficult time in their search as it seemed that every being in the forest was out to kill them. However, the Vagrians were the first to recover a piece of the horn. Thus learning that at some time in its ancient past it had been broken in two parts.
For the Drenai, the search did not go much better. Shortly after entering the woods and commencing the search the Drenai lost half of their number in battle. Yet despite this, they did find several items of power, including the Nadi r relic "The Ring of Kings", before finally finding the other piece of the horn.
The Drenai knowing they were outnumbered gave everything they had found, save the piece of the horn, to the Nadir for aid against the Vagrians in an attempt to recover the other half of the horn. The Nadir shaman "Teckla" gave token support and even Waylander sided with the Drenai in the final battle, but alas in the end even this was not enough.
Just when the Drenai thought they might have a chance, hordes of screaming Nadir warriors rushed into the fray slaying all who were not Nadir. All that remained were the Drenai priests "Graven" and "Anyhoo". Shortly before the onsl aught of Nadir, Waylander left the battle and is said to have escaped. Anyhoo tried to save his companion, for he pledged to serve Teckla for five years. But the moment Graven was portalled he was killed, and Anyhoo learned the true evil of Teckla as he w atched him unravel the magic of the protection circle, so his warriors could attack.
The "Horn of Valdare" was never recovered and is still hidden deep in Nadir lands. The Vagrians may still try to send another group to recover it but if so they must try soon for as feared the Lentrians have joined with the Drenai a nd as they Vagrians were once fighting for conquest now they are fighting for their survival.

"The Turtle Moves"
July Three day game
by John Reynolds
"Brothers! Sisters!"
"Screw off priest"
"No, please, listen. All of you. The Turtle .... Moves! Let me explain .... Ack!"
The priest stares at the arrow protruding uncomfortably from his chest, then as if realising he should already be dead, he collapses into the position of the life-challenged. The small audience that had gathered disperses quietly a nd quickly. This is not the first death of late in Cityname (smallest metropolis in Discworld) and no one is eager to prove that it isn't the last.(see appendix 1)
Many people have been murdered of late, most of them spouting eternal pieces of wisdom like "The Turtle Moves", "The Eternal Swimmer", and "My God, is that an arrow?" What's going on? What turtle? Moving where? Who cares? It occurs to you that perhaps you should. What if you know something? Worse, what if someone thinks you know something but you don't? Worse yet, what if you do know something but you don't know you know but someone else does? (see appendix 2)
This will be a three day participant game with unlimited points set in a fantasy genre based on and set in Discworld.
(1) Veni, Vidi, Volo In Domun Reddire (I came, I saw, I want to go home)
(2) Anyone who can figure that out, please call and explain it to John Reynolds (464-4059).
