Greetings and Felicitations, I hope everyone who attended "The Warrens" did not get sunburned too much. Everyone who showed up had fun on the game so the only people who missed out are those who were supposed to come but slept throu gh the game.

"The Warrens" Game Report

by Brian McGee

"Stones blast that damned sneaky deity" Hirum shouted. The Gem of Stonebridge was nowhere to be found. Cursing, he stormed out of the Warren of Nestor, fabled repository of the treasures of the god of thieves. Carefully he picked hi s way past the corpses of his dwarven companions Taris and Gorim. Also amongst the dead lay Argash the goblin sage, Findalin the thief, Kheldar the gnome, and Ogg the troll. More than half of the adventurers who entered the Warrens that morning never retu rned.

Bloodied and weary, Hirem tracked to the exit of the Warrens. He finds his gnome guide Gillibran, the pickpocket Mr. Curlytoes, and the strange looking human Thiane who had all escaped the battle. Of the assassin Mongrel their was n o sign. Hirum's victory was robbed of it's fullness by the loss of the Gem.

Back in the Warrens, Antarian laughs. He sits on the burned patch of the stone where the sword demon Methanees disappeared, howling in maniacal glee. Gone were his fellow disciples to Nestor, Gnatasha the healer and Fenenilina the m ercenary. Even mighty Bludgeon the ogre had fallen. The dwarf Hirum had felled the last of them. Then Mongrel had stolen the note from Nestor, located deep in the cavern. The note read; "Sorry no treasure, thanks for the fun" as well as a small fortune fr om Nestor's castoff jewels.

The laughter turns to tears as Antarian realized his own deeper personal failure. The Crimson Salmon that marked him as a child of a god did not make him closer to Nestor, and was in fact not a salmon but a herring.

Special acknowledgments to the following for excellent roleplaying; Ryan Jones as Gillibran, Bryce Dennison as Bludgeon, and Elliott Rennie as Ogg.

Boyscout Game

Do not forget to mark your calender for Saturday May 27th because that is the day for the boyscout game. This year the scouts are going to be using rules created by our Rules + Refs committee and will include such things as the famo us blue headband rule, so if you need a break slip on your headband and vanish into the wonderful world of O.O.G (Out of game). As usual we will be served dinner and probably snacks around lunch time. This year's game is expected to go from noon till abou t 10 or 11pm. The scouts do want us to show up early though so they can go over the game with us. Expect a call from one of your friendly board members to let you know when and where to show up. If you have not already been contacted to see if you want to come to the game let me (Russell Rait 469-1336) know and I will make sure you get called to show up as well. So far we have 32 members coming to the game, that still means we will be outnumbered by about five to one. Do not miss this game it is easily on e of the most enjoyable games of the year and its free!

Kingcon

Fieldtrip will have a society room at Kingcon, Evan Brown is our Liaison officer for this con. Evan would like anyone who will be attending the con to contact Evan as he would appreciate some help running the room.

Fund Raising

In an attempt to increase our coffers we have turned to several methods of fund raising. First, Chris Stockley is in charge of the Fieldtrip bottle drive if you have any returnable bottles save them up and let Chris know if your wil ling to donate them. Second, I (Russell Rait) am in charge of the Fieldtrip tape receipt drive. If you have any tape receipts from IGA or Sobeys save them up. Fieldtrip will receive $1.00 for every $500.00 of receipts, so obviously we are going to need a lot of receipts but if these drives are something we do all year round it will turn up to be a second source of revenue for Fieldtrip, which means a better quality of services to you our loyal members. Oh, if any one comes up with any ideas for making mor e money without major outlays please pass it on to a board member.
