Now that everone is sated after the last two games get ready to have fun

at our upcoming BBQ.

This was our annual game for Scouts Canada and went off on May 24th without too many hitches. This year we were expecting around 35 people to show up but for one reason or another we ended up with 25. Some people it seems don't know what a useful device an alarm clock is! Anyway, the game went off smoothly, with the weather cooperating as usual, their was lots of fun to be had and great food to be consumed. All this and our appearance earned us some nifty badges and the right to use Camp Harris for our 3-Day Game later on this summer. For all of you who came out to have fun here is a little reward.

It looks like there were some changes in the hierarchy of the Kingdom of Onzlo on June 7th. Unknown to the visiting dignitaries, the Wicked Witch of the West, Griselda, had taken the place of one of the dignitaries, by utilizing her Flying Monkeys and her life-draining spells. She disguised herself as Dorthena, a delegate from "Kansas", and she slipped her three henchemen, the Tin Woodsmen, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion, among the others assembled with no one being the least bit suspicious.

As the dignitaries assembled to meet the King of Onzlo they were all assaulted mentally and stripped of a vital piece of their being. Shortly afterwards the king and his royal guard were found dead. Their bodies were examined (altho ugh not thouroughly) and the delegates split up to search the countryside to find what they were missing and to find the witch, that they had seen, in their vision, draining the king's life.

During the day, "Dorthena's" monkeys carried two of the delegates off to Monkey Land, never to be seen again. Also after her henchemen found and returned her Ruby Slippers, which was also her concentration, she proceeded to Enthrall four of the delegates, gaining some very loyal slaves. Even after being charmed most of the them still did not suspect that lovely, innocent little Dorthena was really the Witch.

In the final battle one of the Royal Guards, who had usurped the throne and bribed some mercenaries for his own private army, was killed along with almost all of the Non-Enthralled delegates, leaving Griselda the Wicked Witch of the West a.k.a. Dorthena, as the ruler of most of the known world.

Damn that witch, and her little dog Toto too!

Proposals for the latter part of this year will be heard at this month's Board meeting at Dale Roberts residence. Any interested parties are urged to attend, those who are interested in proposing a game will nees to bring a game syn opsis and a estimate as to how many participants you need and how many you can accomadate. This was so much fun last year, that we are doing it again! This is a FREE event with lots of food, fun, and fresh air. You can earn all sorts of extra points by exceling in various events, such as the Scavenger Hunt, the Egg race, the Arrow Toss, and many others. This will also be a General Meeting to elect a new president, as Dale Roberts is stepping down due to other commitments. If you can't make it to the BBQ but want to vote simply give your written and signed proxy to a Board Member or other member who is coming. We will be located by the firepits at the lower parking lot, just past Black Rock Beach.
